Organisation of the exhibition The Expanded Image – Chapelle Boendael (Ixelles), November 2026
The Expanded Image is an exhibition led by a collective of artists who, for the past year, have made the former Ixelles barracks their creative home. Based at Usquare in their respective studios, these artists share a common interest in photographic imagery in all its forms.
This exhibition project explores and celebrates photography’s ability to move beyond its traditional frames and reinvent itself.
We are also developing our own audiovisual creation: an original television series currently in development.

Esther Defourny
Founder and producer of Image Fantôme, Esther Defourny has led the company since its creation and has worked for more than ten years in production and artistic support.
She founded Image Fantôme in 2019 with Ben Coosmans, initially as a creative agency and a space dedicated to printed images. Since then, the company has refocused its activities on producing and supporting artistic projects, as well as developing its own original television series currently in creation.
Her international and multilingual background informs her creative vision and commitment to each project.
Ben Coosmans
A screen-printing artist and graphic designer, Ben Coosmans co-founded Image Fantôme with Esther in 2019. He later left the company to fully dedicate himself to his screen-printing practice, while continuing to collaborate on the company’s graphic and visual projects.
Astrid Defourny
Astrid Defourny joined the project in 2025 to support the development of the series. With ten years of experience in photo and video production for international clients, she brings her technical and artistic expertise to the company’s audiovisual projects.
